Rainbow Endmill

Use a rainbow endmill where chip evacuation and edge finish both matter, especially on MDF, birch ply, and acrylic sheet. On Gauteng boards, dust builds quickly, so pair the cutter with strong extraction and check flute loading before a long nesting run. A first pass test on feed, stepdown, and hold-down usually shows whether the coating is staying clean or packing up.

Router Bit Set

A router bit set suits shops that move between trimming, grooving, chamfering, and profile work in one day. Keep each bit matched to the material on the bed, because melamine-faced board, solid pine, and aluminium composite do not tolerate the same spindle speed or pass depth. Before dispatch to site, note shank size, cutting diameter, and collet condition so the next setup starts with the right tool in hand.

Engraving Bit

An engraving bit is best set with a verified zero point, a clean spoilboard surface, and lettering sized for the material thickness. Fine-point work on brass tags, anodised plate, or painted panels shows runout immediately, so inspect the tip under light before loading the job. For crisp lines, reduce vibration at the sheet edge and keep the work clamped flat across the full cutting area.

Nesting Tool

A nesting tool is built for full-sheet cutting where part yield, tab placement, and chip clearance decide how tidy the pack comes off the table. In dusty Highveld conditions, watch heat on long board runs because compacted fibre and dull edges shorten cutter life fast. Leave room in the program for onion skin passes or tabs where smaller parts may shift near the end of the cut.

Fixture Kit

A fixture kit helps when repeat parts need the same stop positions, clamping order, and access around the cutter path. Low-profile clamps, datum blocks, and spoilboard inserts matter more than force alone, particularly on thin sheet that can lift under vacuum loss. Check that fasteners sit below tool height and that the machine can clear every clamp during tool changes.

Coolant Line

A coolant line should place fluid where the cut needs it without flooding the bed, washing chips into rails, or obscuring the tool tip. On aluminium jobs, aim for steady coverage at the flute entry and confirm that the nozzle holds position through spindle movement. After a run, wipe fittings and inspect for creep at joints, especially if the machine works near coastal air or fine shop dust.
